Does My Car Need A Mechanic?

When deciding if you need to take your car to a mechanic use 4 of your senses: what you feel, hear, see and smell.

Do you feel anything unusual?  Does you steering wheel shake?  Do you feel a vibration?

Do you hear anything unusual?  Are there clunking noises or squeaking sounds?  Do you hear a noise when turning?

Do you see anything unusual?  Are any of your dashboard lights on?  Do you see fluid in your driveway or on the street?

Finally, do you smell something strange? There could be a gas or oil odor, or even the smell of something burning.

This is not meant to include everything but it does give you some things to think about. The other thing I would tell you is to go with your gut.  If  it doesn’t seem right, get it checked out.  You can always stop by or call for an appointment and our friendly and knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you.  Our experience technicians are all ASE Certified and here to help. call us at 410-215-3413

Alternators

Are you familiar with the function of your vehicles’ alternator?  When you start your engine, many lights flash on to test the circuits in your car.  If everything is okay the lights go out.  One light that may stay on indicating that there is a problem, is the car battery light.  If this light stays on it means that your battery is not being charged properly.

Your battery’s job is to provide enough energy to start your engine but you would not get very far on the battery alone.  Your alternator provides the current that allows your engine and all the other electrical requirements of the car to run, including keeping  your battery at the optimal state of charge.  If your alternator is not properly functioning, you could be left stranded.  Give us a call so that our experienced mechanics can perform the necessary tests to keep you on the road!  We are the the place for automotive repair and vehicle maintenance! We are here for you!
